अमेरिकेतली स्वराज्य स्थापना

 

ही  घटना ४ जुलै १७७६ (American Independence) ची नसून  ह्या  २० फेब्रुवारी २०२१ ची आहे आणि तीही  आपल्या कनेक्टिकट मधील मराठी माणसांनी घडवून आणली .  शिवजयंती च्या निमित्ताने आयोजलेल्या नाट्यमाध्यमातून.

करोना मुळे थोडे नैराश्याचे आणि  आर्थिक मंदीचे वातावरण होते गेले वर्षभर . काळरात्र जरी नसली तरी अंधाराची  छाया  आणि अनिश्चितता दाटून आली होती . मग उभारी घेऊन  गरुडझेप  घेण्यासाठी आपण काय करावे ?  आपल्या इतिहासात अशक्य गोष्टी करण्याची प्रेरणा तीन अक्षरात दडून बसली आहे. नुसते शिवाजी महाराज म्हणले की मनगटा मध्ये जोर येतो आणि कुठल्याही संकटाशी सामना करायचे बळ येते. इथे तर कनेक्टिकट मधील DARHCT (देसीज आरौन्ड रॉकी हिल कनेक्टिकट ) संस्था आणि कनेक्टिकट मराठी मंडळाच्या (CTMM ) चमूने  अक्खे शिवचरित्र नाट्य स्वरूपात प्रस्तुत केले तेही ३५ मिनिटात. शिवजन्मापासून स्वराज्य स्थापनेच्या राज्याभिषेक सोहोळ्या पर्यंत सर्व घटनांचा समावेश असलेला बहुमाध्यमिक म्हणजे नाच, पोवाडे, नाट्य , देशी खेळ समाविष्ट असलेले फिरोदिया करंडकाच्या स्वरूपात केलेला कलाविष्कार प्रत्यक्ष उपस्थित प्रेक्षकांनी डोक्यावर घेतला. करोना  काळातली सगळी बंधने आणि काळजी घेऊन आयोजित केलेला हा  कार्यक्रम  न्यू जर्सी मध्ये  मल्लखांब फेडेरेशन USA आणि इंडियन कॉन्सुलेट नी  शिवजयंती निमित्त आयोजित केला होता .

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

 

2021 has started and what a hectic year it has been personally.  Life as they say is comprised of fifty shades of Gray (no this has nothing to do with the film by this name). Nothing is right or wrong: Black or white. But these are the days of Polarization. You have to either be right or wrong. You are with me or against me. And Yes, I support this polarization. Surprised? That too when it's natural in life to have truth somewhere halfway there.  There were Gods and there were demons with humanity somewhere in between throughout ages. But these days it is different. There is a time in life when you have to take a position.  And these are those days for one to take a stand. Either pro or anti. A blatant example is Terrorism. You can be either against it or are yourselves a terrorist. There is no justification of any 'injustice' done to one religion/region. As George W Bush said in his famous and maligned speech. He was ridiculed for nothing those days. But he headed few initiatives that ensured that  9/11 was not repeated in the US. Now it may incite few reactions that this justification of polarization is provocative but  I believe proactivity and action are more worth than reflective passive opinions and inactivity.  Thus I am taking a stance to hail the good, regret the bad, and fight against the ugly.

Year of Reset

Impossible is Nothing, says a Nike Slogan. This is proven again in 2020 but more aptly by rephrasing this slogan: Anything is possible. It was 2020. To mark the end of this dreadful year, I stuck symbolically to my home state and went to a state beach near Westport hosting a natural  9/11 memorial to CT residents lost then. On that clear day in Sep 2001, this point saw the collapse and smoke arising from twin tower debris. 1st Jan 2021 was not that clear day, so could just see the outline of the distant Manhattan skyline. The ritual to be around these waters, started since I landed on these shores, was completed. Like me, Millions of people all over from the globe have entered this continent on these shores. So these waters offer a good backdrop to go philosophical in the globally local context.

Happy New Year 2021

 

Thankfully we have reached Year-end. The only thing to thank this year is for giving us an opportunity to reset a few things. With that looking forward to restarting with those bug fixes. Happy New Year 2021.

RasGandharv: Musical Essence of Fall and Friendship.....

This part of the world transforms itself into heaven from late September till mid-November every year. 

My Daughter Riya writes" With the leaves falling off the trees, nature is preparing for those cold winter days. In my opinion, this is an important doctrine. When something becomes obsolete and might need some change, there needs to be a transformation in order to succeed. The leaves fall off as they cannot face the cruel snowstorms. The trees realize this and shed their leaves. This helps them to survive cold winters. Similarly, when a way of life seems to be dull and monotonous, it means that some alteration needs to be introduced. Maybe picking up a new hobby, indulging in a self-care routine, or simply changing your perspective on your current activities. To be successful in tough times, we need to be equipped with the necessary tools."

Thus few friends dispersed across professions but connected by Geographies (CT and India) decided to find this passion that will help us transform and equip us with the warmth that will last winters and cold vagaries of life.

गोष्ट ‘एका पात्राच्या ऑनलाईन गोष्ट ‘ ची

 

मराठी  मनाला संगीत , कला, नृत्य, सिनेमा , दूरचित्रवाणी  आणि नाटक ह्यांनी कायमच भुरळ घातली आहे. जो नाटक वेडा नाही तो मराठी माणूस नाहीच. मग तो कुठेही असेल तरी.  लोकडाऊन सोशल डिस्टंसिंग जरी  असले तरी शो मस्ट गो ऑन .  संपूर्ण नाटक नाही तर काही एक पात्रांची नाट्यमालिका ऑनलाईन माध्यमातून सादर करण्याची माझी  एक  कल्पना  होती  ह्यात आम्ही गाजलेल्या एकपात्री किंवा  अनेक पात्री  नाटकातील एका किंवा दोन पात्रांचा एक पुष्पगुच्छ अमेरिका येथील कनेक्टिकट मराठी मंडळ च्या दिवाळी प्रोग्रॅम  मध्ये सादर केला. तो इथल्या प्रेक्षकांना इतका आवडला की एक संकल्पक , दिग्दर्शक , लेखक, अभिनेता  आणि संयोजक म्हणून येणारे अभिनंदनाचे मेसेजेस , फोन या, कंमेंट्स अजूनही थांबत नाही. पु लं नि अपूर्वाई च्या प्रस्तावनेत असे काहीतरी  लिहिले आहे: "माझा एक मित्र म्हणाला तू कुठेही फिरायला खुशाल जा , मजा कर, खा  पण प्रवासवर्णन लिहू नकोस." तसेच मलाही माझ्या एका कट्ट्यावरच्या मित्राने सांगितले "बाबारे नाटक कर पण त्यावर  ब्लॉग लिहू नकोस”. पण त्याचे  काय आहे मला गोष्ट ऐकण्याची आणि सांगण्याची सवय आहे. म्हणून हा विक्रमादित्य आपला हट्ट सोडणार नाही.  ही गोष्ट आहे ह्या एका पात्राची  ऑनलाईन  गोष्ट ह्या नाटकाची .
